Articles – How do I request copies of articles USU does not own electronically?

1.  To request articles the library doesn't own electronically, first sign up for an interlibrary loan account. by entering A# and password. USU Libraries, covers most costs for USU students, faculty and staff.

2.  New User registration only needs to be filled out once; however, when you are entering your information, be sure to select “Distance Education” for the campus location field.  Be sure to keep your information (address, e-mail, etc.) current. Now you are ready to order.

3.If you have found the article in an article database, click on the “Article Linker Check for Full-Text button:

4.  This will either take you to a page where you can access the PDF or HTML full-text of the article, or if we don't subscribe to that particular journal or magazine, go to step 3. Step 3 enables you to request the article via interlibrary loan. After you request the article, you will receive an email with a link to the article, typically within 2-3 business days.

5.  If you are not using a database and you already have the citation information for the article you need, login to your interlibrary loan account and then enter a new request. Enter as much of the citation information as you can. You will receive an email with a link to the article, typically within 2-3 business days.

Books – How do I request copies of books that USU Library does not own electronically?

2.  New User registration only needs to be filled out once; however, please make to select “Distance Education” for the campus location field.  Be sure to keep your information (address, e-mail, etc.) current. Now you are ready to order.

3.  Select Book Request, and fill out the citation information in your ILLiad account. Textbooks are not included in service.

4.  The book will be mailed to your home address, and will include a prepaid postage return label. Due dates will be vary and will be indicated on the book band.
