Articles – How do I request copies of articles USU does not own?

1. To request articles the library doesn't own, first sign up for an interlibrary loan account. by entering A# and password. USU Libraries, covers most costs for USU students, faculty and staff.

2.  New User registration only needs to be filled out once; however, please make sure you information (especially your e-mail address) is current. Now you are ready to order.

3.  If you have found the article in an USU Libraries database, click on the “Article Linker link to Full-Text button:

4.  This will either take you to a page where you can access the PDF or HTML full-text of the article, or if we don't subscribe to that particular journal, go to step 3 that will let you request the article via interlibrary loan. After you request the article, you will receive an email with a link to the article, typically within 2-3 business days.

5.  If you are not using a database and you already have the citation information for the article you need, login to your interlibrary loan account and then enter a new request. Enter as much of the citation information as you can. You will receive an email with a link to the article, typically within 2-3 business days.

Books – How do I request copies of books the library does not own?

1.  If you've already run search and determined that USU doesn't own the book you need, go to step two.  If not, run a search in the Library Catalog to see if we own your book.

2.  If we don't own it, login to your interlibrary loan account, select the blue "make a request" button and choose the "book" option. Enter as much of the citation information as you can and submit.

3. When the book arrives, it will be available at the circulation desk. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that it is available.

4. Regional Campus students will have books mailed directly to the home address they have supplied in their ILLiad account (be sure to keep this information up to date).
