When You're Throwed

If a feller's been a straddle since he's big enough to ride, and has had to throw a saddle onto every sort of hide; though it's nothin' they take pride in, most of fellers I have knowed, if they ever done much ridin', has at various times got throwed.

The Muley Steer

If there ever was a critter put creation out of gear, and could turn a cow-boy bitter it's the ornery muley steer. Fer hmes ofe seems to keep a thinkin' in his peaked hairy dome, has no reg'lar place of drinkin' ain't no place where he's at home. He is always discontented sort of drifts about and mourns, seems to drive him plum demented 'cause he hasn't any horns.
