Twilight Reflections
My book of poetry I lay away. The click of the switch marks the close of the day. Alone in the dark, with time to think, as if of life to take one long drink. And savor the flavor, so eminently brewed, for thought and reflection are life's food.

The Bottom Line
Big thunderheads for days build up. But not a drop of rain. Where grasses lush and tall once grew became a dusty plain. When winter came, but little snow. And in the mountains high the snowpack there was mighty small. The winder sure was dry.

An Axe to Grind
"It seems to me this ranchin: sure is gettin' complicated. What yesterday was new, today is obsolete, out dated. It seems there's folks who seem to think our lives must all be planned by experts sayin' how to use our water, air and land."

Catching the Morning Sun
They stand against the rimrock on a high and grassy hill to catch the early moring sun that drives away the chill. Their colors are reflected in the sun's bright shining rays. Sorrels, blacks and pintos.

Buttercup
We called this feller Buttercup. He couldn't ride at all. And any horse that humped his back would send him for a fall. He rode into the ranch one day Decked out in fancy clothes. But he's no cowboys, that's for sure, a fact that plainly shows.
