After Ole sold one third interest in his Alaskan gold mine he spent money lavishly. He was always interested in photography, so he bought elaborate equipment to take pictures of the sun in eclipse. Our eventful trip to Alaska to relocate Ole's lost gold mine was nearing a satisfactory ending. Out Piper cub glided to a stop on the prairie in Lane Co., Ks. Ole had sent a telegram to Luleo, Sweden informing his sweetheart, Olga Lindberg, that he was coming to marry her.

Ole has a good sense of humor and I do love to hear him laugh as he has such a jovial, merry laugh. It really is contageous and sets everyone a laughing. But one day, he was out in the barn and was laughing uproariously, but it was not his usual laugh. It was vulgar, ribald laughter.
